Visiting: Sunken City of Kekova, Simena Island, Ucagiz Village
Duration: 8 hours
You will be picked up from your port of call and driven to one of the most unique sites of Turkey - the renowned Sunken city of Kekova. The kayaking is a very popular activity that allows the visitors to explore this city sunken deep in the ocean after series of earthquakes thousands of years ago.
The reason why this sport
has become very popular
is because no previous experience is necessary. Our all training is provided by our professional tour guides and assistants along with all the necessary
equipment you will need including flotation vests. However, you will get to swim around the area of the sunken city. So prepare your own swimming gear such as goggles, a dive mask and snorkel. Also be
prepared to get wet so sandals, dive booties or canvas shoes are necessary. The
heat is another signature of Turkey so do not forget to bring sun protection and apply a lot before getting on the kayak. Any items that will protect you from the Turkish sun is vital. So cover yourself with sun glasses, sun hat and an extra t-shit. You will appreciate them once you are out kayaking in the ocean.
Do not bring any expensive non-waterproof camera though. If you want to take photos, it is much more advisable to bring those that you can use under the water.
Lunch is taken in the
ancient village of Simena, home to a hilltop castle that affords panoramic views across the entire region. Bring some extra money for drink and ice cream, even though
the price for
lunch is already included in the excursion.
When paddle back to the mainland village of Ucagiz, you will be amazed to
see partly-submerged sarcophagi and cliff tombs. It is considered to be the exciting alternative to explore the brilliant and unique Kekova region.
You will get to relax in the lovely little Ucagiz village before getting driven back to your port of call by our guide.
